Founder
Camila de Almeida, PhD
Dr Camila de Almeida is a Pharmacometrician and Clinical Pharmacologist with over 15 years’ experience across non-clinical and clinical drug development.
She is the founder of BeMath, an independent consultancy specialising in quantitative pharmacology, PK/PD modelling, and clinical pharmacology to support development strategy and regulatory decision-making.
She holds a PhD in Systems Biology, providing a mechanistic foundation to her work in translational modelling and quantitative drug development.
Her career spans senior roles across pharmaceutical, consultancy, and CRO environments, including AstraZeneca, Certara, Simulations Plus, and Parexel. Her work has focused on non-clinical and clinical development, with particular expertise in translational modelling, Model-Informed Drug Development, first-in-human dose selection, and PK/PD analysis. She has also supported regulatory submissions, including programmes under the Animal Rule (FDA).
She is recognised for bringing clarity to complex datasets and translating quantitative analysis into structured, decision-relevant insight. Her experience includes working across multidisciplinary environments, collaborating closely with bioscientists in the design and interpretation of experimental studies, and working with clinical development and pharmacology teams, as well as other domain specialists, to align quantitative, biological, and regulatory perspectives.
BeMath reflects her approach: focused, scientifically rigorous, and aligned with the practical realities of drug development.
How I Work
Work is delivered with direct senior involvement throughout. Engagements are structured around the scientific questions that matter most and adapt as programmes evolve.
I work closely with client teams to ensure continuity of thinking and alignment with development strategy.
